I haven’t ignored your message. I have been moving for the past couple days and haven’t had much time online…
Yeah, Christians have done some messed up things, but so have many other groups throughout history. Sorry about the past. All I can do is speak for myself. And just so you know, i’m reading a book by a Muslim right now. I think you have a misconception and obviously bitterness towards Christians. I’m sorry about that, but if you ever want to talk openly and honestly, we can do that for sure.
Last thursday my dad and I set out on a 1,700 mile journey from Minneapolis to Seattle. We drove through North Dakota, Montana, Idaho and Washington.
America is so, so beautiful. And huge.
I’m in Seattle now and I start interning at the World Vision office in Federal Way, WA tomorrow. I’m nervous. Most interns are older then 18 and have more experience. I just want to do a good job.
Yesterday was a little rough. This is my first time being on my own and i’m in a new city far away from my family. It’s kinda scary. But today I woke up feeling better.
Every time I go on an adventure, which is kind of often, I forget how difficult it can sometimes be. It is easy to glamorize. But some days it is hard. But this is only day 2. I know everything will be fine because God has me here for a reason.
Tomorrow I am leaving for a road trip to Seattle to intern at World Vision. I’m driving about 1,700 miles to get there and can’t wait to start actually interning in their offices!
Taking a gap year is one of the best decisions I have ever made. It is so, so exciting the adventures that the Lord takes you on when you follow him. Seriously, life keeps getting better and better. :)
The Mission: Women for Women International provides women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts with the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency, thereby promoting viable civil societies. We’re changing the world one woman at a time.
That's wonderful you're thinking of doing missions and anthropology as well! If you ask me what I wanted to do with my life 3 months ago I would have been able to give you a complete answer with every little detail planned out, but now I literally have no idea what I'm going to do with my major haha.
Haha well that’s awesome, i’m sure you will figure it out! What schools are you looking at?
